The last year of college is a real decisive year of our life as most of us apply for job. Here's a list of things we usually go through before appearing for our first job interview.
1. Make your resume/C.V
1. Make your resume/C.V
Making resume is a huge task. It is the first impression the interviewer get of you. Sadly, it is one of the dreaded part for us student. Suddenly we are out of all the talent we thought we had and end up bluffing in the resume.
2. Read about the company/post you are applying for:
From knowing the name of the founder of the company, the name of the current CEO and knowing it's current market cap... we do a whole thesis about that company .
3. STUDY!!:
Yea... study... do the thing , which most of us have not done in all those year while we were religiously bunking the classes.
4. Improve communication skills:
Yes, communication skills. Most of you who are good at this won' t understand the problem faced by people who are bad in communicating. Simple question like "tell me something about yourself ?", could make them go speechless!!!
5. Shopping:
The only up-side of going through the interview, wait... if you hate shopping, then one more downside. We all need to be dressed well on the interview day. Most of us don't have formal clothes... thus we go shopping!!!. quick question? does anyone knows how to tie a tie?
6. Grooming:
I guess this apply mostly for us,guys!!! We need to shave our precious beard, clean our nails, trim that unkempt hair of ours... and finally... take a BATH!!!! phew! so much to do :/
7. Panic:
We start to panic a lot... "what if I am not selected/ what if I cant answer the question/ what if the interviewer turns out to be a monster and eat me!!" and all sort of question start racing our mind when we sit through the interview process and wait for our turn.
So these are the basic things which we go through while appearing for our first interview. We may pass it with flying colours or fail at it... but one thing that we all must remember is that the best is still out there for us ... and that we must keep trying for the best :)
I wish I could +1 dis post a hundred times...... Each word dictates humour....
